THE SPIRIT OF CROPREDY PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

What is the spirit of Fairport's Cropredy Convention … and can it be photographed? That's the question we want you to address this year, and we've got an exclusive prize for the photographer who comes up with the best answer in the form of a still image! We're looking for the image that best sums up everything that Cropredy is about. What that looks like is up to you, and up to Fairport's very own Simon Nicol (below) , who will be judging the contest!

Simon NicolThe winner as chosen by Simon will not only receive a collection of great Cropredy-related goodies but also see their winning image immortalised in print, as it will feature in a Fairport Convention tour or festival programme!

To enter, submit your Cropredy 2011 picture/s, which must be no bigger than 3Mb in size, along with a brief description, to the Flickr group, or via email, along with your name and postal address. All other entries will be void.

The closing date for entries for the competition is midnight on Sunday October 16th 2011.

IMPORTANT: Please mark all competition entries with "Cropredy 2011 Competition" in the caption or description.

Terms and conditions:

The closing date for entries for the competition is midnight on Sunday October 16th 2011.

1. All submitted photographs must have been taken at this year's (2011) Fairport's Cropredy Convention music festival in Cropredy, Oxfordshire, England, and have been captured between Wednesday August 10 and Sunday August 14, 2011, inclusive.
2. This competition is open to non-professional photographers only and excludes employees of FolkCast, Fairport Convention Ltd and associated companies, their families or anyone else associated with this competition.
3. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
4. Entries can be submitted by joining the Cropredy 2011 Flickr Group and posting a photograph to the Group, or via email to the FolkCast email address. Entries must be labeled with the entrant’s name (or Flickr name) and postal address and image files must be a maximum of 3MB in size. We regret that we are unable to accept postal entries.
5. All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.
6. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
7. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to FolkCast to feature any or all of the submitted images in any publication, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition.
8. Each entrant may submit a maximum of 10 images. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
9. The winning entry will be that that is judged to best sum up the spirit of Fairport's Cropredy Convention music festival.
10. One entrant shall win a selection of items relating to Fairport's Cropredy Convention, to FolkCast and to Wadworth. The exact composition of the prize is subject to availability.
11. The winner may be required to take part in publicity.
12. The winner’s name and county/country will be published on the FolkCast website.
13. All prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
14. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
15. English law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts shall prevail.

THE PODCAST QUIZ

Over the nine preview podcasts you'll hear nine quiz questions relating to Cropredy and the Festival. Collect the questions and send them, numbered 1 to 9, by email.

Remember, you must send all nine answers in one email with the subject line 'Cropredy Quiz'. Along with the answers we'll need your name and postal address. All other entries will be void.

Three winners, drawn at random from all the correct entries received by the closing date of midnight on September 1st, will each receive a fabulous Cropredy goodie bag full of exclusive goodies from Fairport Convention, from FolkCast and from Wadworth.
